The group of Dirril, James, Nasser, Paul, and Tina set off from Mam Nook car park in for a short climb up to Rushup Edge. We made good progress, only stopping to take photos of Nasser on Lordship Seat. We made good time past the hang gliders, while dodging mountain climbers who seemingly couldn’t read the signs that said no bikes on this path. Coffee was taken at the top of Jacob’s Ladder, during which conversation turned to the whereabouts of the other group. Little did we know that they were adding an extra bit on to the walk by heading up to Edale Cross.
We descended Jacob’s Ladder and then continued along the Pennine Way towards Edale. We came to the conclusion that the other group must have gone the other way around the walk, and resigned ourselves to not meeting up. Just short of Edale we stopped for lunch and attracted the attention of an inquisitive sheep. While we were eating Ray phoned Nasser, and is one of the few people to appear in a walk report without going on the walk!
From Edale we climbed up to Hollins Cross, and from there we headed up to Mam Tor, before dropping down towards the cars. Then with us only a few hundred metres from finishing we came upon the other group!
Once we finished we headed off for the traditional drink at the Rambler Inn.
