Let's Go

This is the web site of The Walking Club,
a Peterborough based hiking group.

We are planning to start walking again on Easter Sunday 4th April. We will again be allowed to gather outdoors in goups of up to six people providing social distancing measures are maintained. We therefore intend to commence walking whilst adopting the following protocols:

  • 1. Walkers travel alone or in family groups to allocated walk start point
  • 2. Maximum of six in walking group
  • 3. Social distancing to be maintained at all times
  • 4. Minimise touching gates and stiles
  • 5. Sanitize hands before having lunch
  • 6. Sanitize hands before entering car at end of walk

This will be reviewed at the end of May when the next relaxation of lockdown is scheduled.

The Club is based in the Peterborough/Stamford area but walks are frequently outside this area. More local walks would cover the immediate surrounding counties whilst a few times a year we go up to the Peak District to gain a bit of altitude and improved views. Walks are generally between 8 and 14 miles in length and are programmed throughout the year on Sundays.

Whether it’s local strolls you’re after or more challenging walks in the Peak District, you’ll find it all at The Walking Club. New members are welcome; come and try a walk before joining.
