Walk 10/2012 – Millerdale

Sunday 6th May 2012

This was a walk in the White Peak which took in part of the Limestone Way, which runs from Castleton to Rocester in Staffs. Advertised as passing through six dales, we could only count five – Tideswell, Miller’s, Monk’s, Peter and Hay. Where is our missing dale?

Fortunately the water levels in the streams had dropped enough after recent rain to enable us to keep our feet dry along Monk’s Dale which is the rockiest and narrowest of the dales and always takes plenty of concentration picking your way between the rocks.

After completing our walk we visited the Vanilla Kitchen, the tea shop in Tideswell, for a well–earned cuppa.
