A reasonable turn out at The Fitzwilliam Arms in Marholm, on what transpired to be on of the worst night’s this year. I’m referring to the weather of course, not the company!
Having pre ordered our meals we were led to our table which was a form of restraint in my opinion, as a very tight fit on one side. This did not deter Alan from playing musical chairs, half way the evening, to allow everyone to mingle.
The meals received a mixed reaction, with perhaps the “still frozen in the middle” fish pie not scoring too well, or the salmon roulade consisting of “the cooked type of salmon” and not the smoked variety, a close second.
The snow fell all evening, so we did not linger once fed and watered. The money aspect, once again, going to our regular walk leader for sorting, with the added pressure of having to work out a 25% discount for everyone as I presented him with a voucher.
All in all, an enjoyable evening spent in each others company.
