Walk 08/2012 – Eskdale in the Lakes

Friday 6th April 2012

Having travelled up to the lakes, Geoff, Alan, Owen and Simon went for a afternoon walk around the River Esk estuary. The weather was drizzly and overcast producing views along the estuary shrouded in mist.

But it got us out in the fresh air before making the final leg of the trip to the Eskdale youth hostel. This hostel is in a fantastic setting with no other buildings nearby. The local pub, the Woolpack Inn, was a 200m walk down the road and had recently been done up. It proved to be a comfortable place to round off our walking exertions.
